Fairground rides, a Christmas tree lights switch-on and the chance to see Santa riding on horseback will be just some of the attractions in Wimbledon village on December 3.
Visitors to the much-loved annual event, known as Christmas in the Village, can also enjoy complimentary mince pies and mulled wine. And there'll be a chance to join in with carols around the tree.
Adrian Mills, chairman of Wimbledon Village Business Association which is organising the event said: "It is wonderful to see the street lined with families to watch Santa arriving on horseback.
“We run these events to remind residents, customers and tourists what a wonderful place the village is. With the Christmas lights and Christmas tree lit-up, Wimbledon Village has an incredible festival atmosphere and sense of community.”
The day, which runs between 10am- 5pm, also includes a reindeer treasure hunt, story-time and gingerbread and decorating, and children will be able to meet Santa in his grotto free, courtesy of the Wimbledon Foundation.
The lights switch-on will take place at 4.30pm and will be performed by a special guest at the event which will raise funds for the Wimbledon Guild.
