A Wimbledon couple will run in memory of their daughter who died of a rate form of blood cancer.

Warren and Karen Blount's daughter Caitlyn died in 2015 after battling Angiosarcoma and now they are raising money for charity Shooting Star Chase by running the Royal Parks Half Marathon.

The charity provided help to Caitlyn and sibling support for their younger daughter Megan, eight.

Warren, 43, said: "She fought bravely.

“It is a truly awful experience for a parent to watch their child suffer and not be in a position to help them.”

The race on October 8 has raised £30 million for 750 charities in the past nine years. Shooting Star Chase is a children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Warren said: “They were very helpful. In our situation Caitlyn was in a lot of pain and was immobilised from an early stage

“We’d like to raise as much money as possible for our beloved Caitlyn.

"She suffered terribly which is why we are determined to raise awareness of this disease which will hopefully lead to more targeted research into finding a cure.”
