Children at a Southfields school enjoyed a tennis match with the world former number two this week.

Andrea Jaeger visited Linden Lodge school in Princes Way yesterday, July 6.

She was joined by fellow tennis player and colleague at the Little Star Foundation, Adriana Solarova, and came armed with bags of goodies along with tennis balls used during Wimbledon matches and signed certificates of current Wimbledon players.

Students quizzed Andrea about life as a tennis player and were helped by Andrea to make garden tags for an upcoming enterprise day.

Ms Jaeger established the Little Star Foundation nearly 30 years ago. She is returning to Wimbledon this year to play at the Wimbledon Championships 'Legends' event.

Deborah Rix, Headteacher said “It was a privilege to have Andrea and Adriana here for the day spending quality time with our students and they will all take away special memories of the day”.

One of the pupils said: “ It is great to have played with tennis balls that have actually been used by the stars playing at Wimbledon”.
