Police swarmed on a bank in south Wimbledon after a man allegedly threatened to use a knife during an argument with the staff.
A spokesman for Merton police confirmed a man got into an argument “which got very threatening” towards staff at the Barclays bank in Morden Road.
He confirmed that the man threatened to use a knife, but said no knife was produced during the incident at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, March 29.
Amirul Hussain, 44, from Derinton Road, Tooting, has been charged with using threatening words or behaviour under the public order act.
He will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on May 5, 2017.
