Jewellery belonging to Sousse massacre victim Janet Stocker has been stolen from their grieving daughter’s home, just days before a verdict on the deaths was delivered it has emerged.

Kelly Stocker-Putt returned to find her home in Aragon Way, in Morden, had been burgled on Sunday, February 26 following a weekend break with her partner.

Items taken included Janet’s gold wedding ring and a Pandora bracelet given to her by her husband John. John was killed next to his wife.

The thieves also took a watch and jewellery belonging to their daughter.

Ms Stocker-Putt, 40, had left to prepare herself for the Tunisia inquests at the Royal Courts of Justice on Tuesday, February 28.

Judge Nicholas Loraine-Smith ruled the 30 Britons gunned down by terrorist Sefeddine Rezgui on June 26, 2015, were unlawfully killed.

He also criticised the police response as the gunman opened fire on the tourists as they sunbathed on the beach outside the Rui Imperial Marhaba Hotel. Rezgui was shot dead by the country’s security forces about 30 minutes after the attack began.

Judge Loraine-Smith said: "The response by police was at best shambolic and at worst cowardly. It was completely ineffective until the death of the gunman at the hands of the national guard."

Speaking after the verdict Ms Stocker-Putt said: “I have been made to feel totally violated. Because I don’t have my parents with me anymore the items are quite personal to me and can’t just be replaced.

“People don’t care about that though, it was very difficult coming back to my home to find my whole bedroom had been ransacked. My partner and I had gone away for the weekend to prepare for the inquest result.

The Aragon Way resident then made direct appeal to the burglar who took the jewellery.

She said: “Those items cannot be replaced. There were things of mine that were taken, but I can get replacements for those. They are very important to me.”

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Detectives from Merton are investigating following a residential burglary on Aragon Road in Morden.

“Police were called shortly before 18:00hrs on Sunday, 26 February to reports that a house had been burgled. A scenes of crime officer attended the address and officers have conducted a number of enquiries in the area.”

No arrests have been made as of Thursday, March 2.
