Officers from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) came to the rescue of a car that had been flipped onto its roof after a crash in Wimbledon.

Two cars were involved in the crash in Worple Road, which left one car stranded on the pavement and another upside in the middle of the road shortly before 3.30pm on Sunday, February 19.

Around 15 officers from Wimbledon and Wandsworth were called to Worple Road by Merton police.

A spokesman for Wimbledon Fire Station said: "The car was on its roof and leaking oil in the middle of the road, and was affecting traffic going either way.

"We ended up flipping it. We got it on its wheels and moved it over to the side of the road, and then we left it to the police."

He added that both drivers had received only very minor injuries in the crash.
