Seven magnificent cowboys have been spotted riding around the capital this week – leaving their horses at Boris Bike stations, using zebra crossings and chilling in London parks.

It was all a stunt, of course, for the new version of the film The Magnificent Seven, which is out today.

The riders and their steeds even queued up at Cineworld Leicester Square to get tickets.

Commuters and tourists soon took to Twitter after seeing the authentically dressed cowboys in the West End.

Katherine Hall (@katherinehall91) tweeted: Cowboy commute in full swing this morning… watch out @TFL you’ve got competition for those Boris Bikes. #Mag7 #LondonLife’

Tim Lihoreau (@TimLihoreau) tweeted: ‘There were #cowboys outside @ClassicFM towers when I arrived this morning.’

Lizzy Conder spotted the cowboys from her window: ‘Never dull at my work! Cowboys with mounts in Bloomsbury @UoLondon @Senate_House @SenateHouseLib #LondonIsOpen’

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the Western remake stars Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke and Chris Pratt.
