A gang of thugs robbed two teenage boys of their bikes in a street attack in Morden.

The pair were cycling next to Morden Underground station when they were approached by five older teenage boys, police said.

The group threatened both boys and demanded them to hand over their bikes, before targeting one of the victims.

When the other boy put his bike down to help his friend, the thugs turned on him and managed to snatch his bike as well.

The gang also managed to steal a mobile phone before running off in different directions, according to police.

Officers were called at about 9.20pm to reports of a robbery near to a subway by Sainsbury's car park on London Road.

Detectives today released CCTV footage of five teenagers they are hunting in connection with the robbery.

  • Suspect 1 is described as a medium built, white teenage boy with short brown hair wearing a dark blue jumper over a white top, blue jeans, white socks and red trainers.
  • Suspect 2 is described as a slim built, tall black teenage boy wearing a fur hat with ear flaps, blue hooded coat with white writing on the front, dark blue tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.
  • Suspect 3 is described as a slim built, black teenage boy with short black hair wearing a grey jumper over a black hooded top, blue jeans and blue trainers.
  • Suspect 4 is described as a slim built, black teenage boy with short black hair wearing a grey hooded top over his head, dark jacket, light blue trousers, white trainers and a light blue bag on his hip.
  • Suspect 5' is described as a slim built, black teenage boy with short hair wearing a dark baseball cap, blue jacket, beige trousers and was seen in possession of a white plastic shopping bag.
