The Wimbledon Park Food Festival will still run this bank holiday weekend, despite the cancellation of Live at Wimbledon Park.

The Food Festival, which celebrates its third year this year, promises a smorgasbord of culinary delights to visitors, from handmade sausages and regional cheeses to Indian street food and American-style barbeques. Experts and chefs will be on hand to share their wisdom in the cookery demonstration tent.

There should be plenty to entertain junior chefs, with face painting, storytelling and animal petting, as well as a special appearance from CBebbies’ Katy Ashworth on the Saturday. Meanwhile, grown-ups can relax with craft beers and cocktails.

This year’s festival was due take place alongside the outdoor music event Live at Wimbledon Park. Although Merton Council were forced to cancel the Live event after not selling enough tickets, the Food Festival will still be held as normal.
