A group of men are reported to have stabbed a man with a samurai sword in Mitcham in broad daylight.
The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries after the attack on Western Road, Mitcham at about 3.40pm on Tuesday.
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 3:40pm on Tuesday 21 June to reports of a stabbing on Western Road.
"We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene.
"We treated a man at the scene for minor injuries and took him to hospital."
It is believed the man was attacked by a group of up to five men with a samurai type sword as he was walking in Field Gate Lane near Lidl Stores.
The Metropolitan police have confirmed they are investigating the incident. Anyone with information should call police on 101.
