A fight overnight in Mitcham has left two men hospitalised - one with stab injuries and another with facial injuries - and three arrested.

Police were called at 1am this morning to Morden Road where they found a man in his thirties with injuries to his face.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm by officers.

An hour and a half later at 2.30am, a man in his twenties took himself to a west London hospital and said he had been stabbed.

He was taken to a south London hospital where he remained this morning with non-life threatening injuries.

The attack happened in the Ravensbury Grove area between Mitcham and Morden.

Ravensbury Grove and Bishopsford Road were closed overnight while police dealt with the reported assault.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said it is understood the young man was injured in Morden Road.

A third man was arrested in relation to the stabbing.

Two men remain in custody, and two in hospital, apparently under guard by officers.
