A 23-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the buttocks this morning.
Residents reported seeing police officers and forensics teams in Lewis Road, Mitcham, at about 10am.

It is the second incident in the borough today, as police are dealing with an alleged murder of a man reportedly in his twenties, in Kendor Gardens, near Kenley Road, Morden.

There is reported to be police tape and vehicles blocking off the road near to Asda in the Mitcham stabbing.
Former Wimbledon councillor Suzanne Evans said: "Two stabbings in Merton today and this is supposedly one of the three safest boroughs in London. God help the rest."

Police were called at 7.25am this morning to Lewis Road to reports on an injured man.

He was taken to a south London hospital where he remains with stab wounds which are not said to be life threatening or life changing.
