Two teenage boys have appeared in court charged with multiple counts of rape, sexual assault and carrying a knife after an alleged assault in a Wimbledon park.

The alleged attack took place in South Park Gardens, just off Wimbledon Broadway, on Sunday, December 20.
The two 16-year-old boys, both from Mitcham, appeared at Kingston Crown Court yesterday (January 6).

One boy faces seven charges, including four counts of rape against 15-year-old girls, carrying a knife, sexual assault and causing actual bodily harm. He has been remanded in a youth detention centre.
The other teenager has been charged with two counts of rape against 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl.

They are due to return to Kingston Crown Court on March 23 to enter a plea, and a trial has been scheduled to start at the same court on May 7.
