More than 17,000 Christmas jobs are still unfilled, including many in retail, warehouses and catering, according to a study.
Jobs site Adzuna said temporary, part-time jobs had been "flooding" the country in recent weeks following announcements from supermarkets, online firms and Royal Mail.
Unusual vacancies include Christmas tree light untanglers and present pickers.
The best paying Christmas jobs include locum medical consultants (£720 a day) and emergency nurses (£400), while the lowest paid include care workers (£7.20 an hour).
