Sword and machete wielding robbers are being hunted by police after threatening a female shop assistant and making off with cash, cigarettes and alcohol.

The terrified assistant at an off-licence in Church Road, Mitcham, was threatened with a large machete knife by one of the men while the other went behind the till and stole cash, along with a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.

Both men then walked out of the shop after the terrifying raid at about 11pm on Friday, November 13.

One of the men is thought to be aged between 16 and 18 years and had black goggles on and had his head and face covered. He was wearing black jacket and black shoes.

He was wearing a backpack which contained a sword.

The second man is also thought to be aged between 16 and 18 years, is of thin build and approximately 5ft 6ins tall.

He was wearing a black hat, black jacket and black shoes. His face was covered and he was wearing red goggles. He was seen carrying a large machete.

Both suspects wore gloves throughout the robbery.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise these men.
