They met at a party where Mr Palmer Williams' alter-ego Mr Roballoons performed for a group of children undergoing cancer treatment at the children's centre at the Royal Marsden.

Miss Paterson, who lives near Morden Hall Park, said: "What he's doing is fantastic.

"I have to say thank you to Tots Landing for such a fantastic initiative for the Royal Marsden."

A total of £460 was raised from the day's takings, buckets on the counter and a Justgiving page www.justgiving.com/Rob-Palmer-Williams shared on the business Facebook page.

Mr Palmer Williams is no stranger to fundraising. Earlier this year he won the Business of the Year award at the Merton Civic Awards run by the Wimbledon Guardian and Merton Council in recognition of his fundraising efforts for a number of charities.
