A man repeatedly approached two young girls in the space of five days, Metropolitan Police have said.
The first girl, 13, was followed and then approached in Ellerton Road, Earlsfield, at about 10:15 on Sunday, September 13.
A man tried to talk to her and touched her wrist before she pulled away and ran off.
He is described as white, aged between 30 and 40, with stubble on his face.
He wore a dark blue cap and had a “scruffy appearance”.
On Thursday, September 17, a 10-year-old girl said she had been approached a number of times throughout the week by a man matching the same description in Burntwood Lane near Tranmere Road.
On one occasion he was with another man, who did not speak to the girl.
The second person was described as white, bald and aged in his 50s. He had several cuts on his head and an injured hand.
Schools in Earlsfield have been warned of the approaches.
Detective Inspector Peter Braganza, from Wandsworth, said: "We are linking both incidents due to the close proximity and the descriptions provided.
"A fast moving investigation is currently underway to identify these individuals and prevent any further incidents.
"While we are working closely with our local schools and appraising the community with any developments, I must stress that incidents like this are rare and will not be tolerated.
"Both uniformed and plain clothes officers are patrolling the area to offer reassurance and a visible presence.
