The driver of a white lorry with orange markings stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.

Martin Way has been temporarily closed between Canon Hill Lane and Westcroft Gardens, with police tape sealing off the area.

The lorry was still at the scene at about 10am and a police investigation tent has been erected while officers continue to gather evidence.

A police officer said: "The area is being treated as a crime scene and we are investigating.

"It is hard to say how long the investigation will go on for because the it is still ongoing and we are just gathering evidence.

"The road closures are in and aren’t causing too many problems but we want to conduct the best investigation we can.

"It’s too early to give any more information at this stage."

Martin Way is closed between Cannon Hill Lane and Westcroft Gardens.

Anyone planning on travelling along Martin Way has been advised to use another route by Transport for London.
