A house keeper rapist who lured a man into a hotel suite after a fake job interview has been jailed for six years today.

The Old Bailey heard Sebastian Szerer, 39, of Alexandra Road, Wimbledon, interviewed the younger man for a job at the Rubens Hotel, Buckingham Palace Road, Westminster that didn’t exist then showed him around afterwards.

The court heard he then showed the victim into the Queen's Suite at the hotel and locked the room before raping the man.

Police said Szerer abused his position as head house keeper of the hotel to lure the man into his clutches, leaving him so terrified he did not report the attack for more than a year afterwards.

A message from his attacker on a social networking site which read ‘hello stranger’ prompted the victim to go to Victim Support and tell them about the rape and he was encouraged to contact the police.

Just over a year after the attack on April 15, 2012, Szerer was arrested and charged with rape, which he later denied.

He was found guilty yesterday after a trial at the Old Bailey and was sentenced to six years in prison today.

Investigating officer, detective inspector Lee Davison, of Sexual Offences Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said: "Szerer abused his position as head house keeper.

"He purposely lured the victim to the hotel on the pretext of a job interview that didn't exist. He then raped him. Thankfully he has been found guilty and I praise the victim today for his decision to report this rape to the police.

"The Metropolitan Police's Sexual Offences Exploitation & Child Abuse Command will pursue all such offenders to bring them to justice and I would encourage anyone who has suffered at the hand of another to report the matter in the knowledge that they will be believed and supported."
