Darcey Bussell opened the Wimbledon Village Fair on Saturday as thousands gathered to enjoy the borough's biggest outdoor event.
The Strictly Come Dancing judge and former prima ballerina cut the ribbon on Wimbledon Common at 11am, before taking to the stage to demonstrate her new aerobic dance workout, Diverse Dance Mix.
"It was just amazing", said Wimbledon Guild spokeswoman Louise Bellamy.
"We are delighted that she came along and especially that she got the chance to show her dance workout."
Forty thousand revellers are thought to have been on the Common until the early evening, with entertainment including a jazz tent, horse show-jumping and a cookery demonstration by Masterchef 2015 finalist Paul Bogle.
The Wimbledon Guild hosts the annual fair to raise money and awareness about the charity, which supports people experiencing financial, material and emotional hardship.
