Strictly Come Dancing professional Kristina Rihanoff will conjure up the golden age of Hollywood when she dances alongside Pixie Lott in Wimbledon this month.

The blonde bombshell, who was a finalist in last year's contest with singer Simon Webb, has choreographed a revival of Puttin' on the Ritz with fellow Strictly professional Robin Windsor.

The show is packed with the music of songwriters George Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter, with songs such as "Cheek to Cheek" and "Night and Day".

Channelling Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, the professionals will waltz to songs from the post-war golden era, including "Alexander's Ragtime Band", "I Got Rhythm" and, of course, "Puttin' on the Ritz".

Pop sensation Pixie Lott will perform with her Strictly professional partner Trent Whiddon during a four-day run at the New Wimbledon Theatre starting on Wednesday, May 27.

"It will be fantastic to be with Pixie on the show because like I said I don’t normally see everybody after the show because you are going on with your life and Robin and I are always very busy, so it will be fantastic to see Pixie because she was incredible on Strictly. So it will be great to do something together," says Rihanoff.

The 37-year-old Russian dancer, who lives in Chiswick, is used to keeping busy between Strictly contests - revealing she has not even had time to dance again with Simon Webb since the show.

In the summer of 2013 she starred alongside Windsor in a four-month West End run of ballroom extravaganza Burn the Floor.

"We performed it for four months and that was quite a special time when we were a lead couple on the West End and the love for the live performances never goes away. Puttin' on the Ritz will be another fantastic experience for us", says Rihanoff.

She joined the professional cast of Strictly Come Dancing in 2008 and will be taking part in this year's contest, although her celebrity partner has yet to be revealed.

As for pre-performance rituals, the dancer says she tries to take a minute of "almost meditation" to prepare. While after the show her priorities shift to having "a meal and a glass of wine."

Puttin' on the Ritz will debut in Wimbledon before going on a national tour.

Rihanoff says: "In Puttin' on the Ritz there's no story, it's just an extravaganza of different songs. The show has been on for several years now and we are putting our choreography with songs that are already used in the show."
