A 36-year-old man has been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm after a man was repeatedly stabbed in a pub last weekend.
Michael Folan, a tenant at Wimbledon's YMCA, allegedly stabbed 34-year-old William Matthews in the Royal Surrey Pub in Morden.
Police and ambulance descended on the Abbotsbury Road pub at about 8.30pm on Sunday after Matthews was reportedly "stabbed four times with a steak knife".
Matthews was taken to a south London hospital, but has since been discharged.
Folan was charged on Monday with attempted grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife.
Appearing at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, he was remanded in custody while he awaits trial.
He is due to enter a plea at Kingston Crown Court on Monday, May 11.
The Royal Surrey Pub is described online as a "friendly local" pub in Abbotsbury Road, a short walk from Morden tube station.
The pub owners were unavailable for comment.
