Police on the ground and in the air who were spotted in Wimbledon town centre this evening were hunting for a wanted man.
The police helicopter was spotted circling around the town centre by Wimbledon train station at about 6.30pm by members of the public.
A police spokesman said they were hunting for a wanted man.

A suspect had failed to appear in court although any further details on the alleged offence or his age were not available at this stage.
It was believed he was hiding in the town centre area.
The police helicopter was called to search for the man from the air while a number of patrol cars scoured the streets.
A number of members of the public reported seeing the helicopter circling around the town centre for about ten minutes before leaving the area just after 6.40pm.
No-one was found and no arrests were made.
