Pupils from a high school produced a high energy evening of entertainment for their first dance show of the year.

Boys and girls from all year groups at Raynes Park High School showcased their skills in a variety of dance performances ranging from ballet to Bollywood, hip-hop to tap.

Dancers show off their skills

The students choreographed their own dances for the show on January 15, and whilst there were many stand-out performances, a school spokeswoman said a special mention must go to Kieran Doughty, Liam Jordan and Sade Nelson-Frost, who took to the stage nine times each.

The head of the RPHS Dance Academy Amy McGullion said: "The success of this year’s show was due to the massive amount of hard work and dedication from students of all year groups, some of whom started rehearsals last July.

"There was also tremendous encouragement from the older students to the younger ones which gave them the confidence to take to the stage, many for the first time."

A total of £780 raised from ticket sales will go back into the dance academy to help pay for costumes, competitions and future dance shows.
