Two men and a woman were rushed to hospital last night after two collisions involving motorcycles in the space of two hours.

Gridlocked traffic was reported by residents for much of the evening after the road traffic accidents in Raynes Park and Morden.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called to Bushey Road just after 6pm and treated a woman in her 20s for chest injuries and a man in his 40s for a head injury.

Both patients were taken to St George's Hospital, Tooting, as a priority.

Police were then called to Martin Way in Morden at 8pm after a collision between a car and a motorcycle close to the junction with Canon Hill Lane.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital by ambulance. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Morden resident Mark Paterson said it took him an hour to get from Raynes Park to Morden last night after police closed Martin Way.

The road was re-opened at about 12.30am.

No arrests were made.
