A jilted woman who took up baking after breaking-up with her fiance has been invited to compete in an international cake decorating competition.

Wimbledon Times:

Have you spotted Antonia on one of her cupcake runs around the Village?

Antonia Cridland, of Wimbledon Park Side, said: "I used to do baking with my mum when I was little.

"I've got an English and art degree and I took cooking classes when I split up with my fiance in 2010 so I didn't sit around feeling sorry for myself."

Likely to be seen doing 'cupcake runs' around Wimbledon Village, the romance author has since started her own cake business, Antonia's Bakery.

She said she was "shocked" to be invited to compete in Cake International, the sugarcraft, cake decorating and baking show, which takes place in Birmingham next month.

'Crazy sheep' are her best-selling cupcakes, which have a vanilla or chocolate base, swirl of vanilla butter cream, piped little legs and cross-eyes.

The 42-year-old is hoping to dazzle judges, including Great British Bake Off's Mary Berry and the Queen's cake decorator Mich Turner.
