New Wimbledon Theatre plays host to the swinging sixties as The Sensational 60’s Experience returns for one night only.

The 50th anniversary concert brings together the chart toppers of the decade with Herman’s Hermits and The Swinging Blue Jeans set to take to the stage.

Alan Mosca, a member of Freddie and the Dreamers, has compered the event for the last four years. He chats to Kezia Joseph ahead of the upcoming tour.

Kezia Joseph: How long have you had a career in music?

Alan Mosca: I’ve been involved with the 60’s experience for the last five to six years, but the other bands and I have careers spanning 50 years. After our shows we meet the audience.

We feel we owe that small gesture to the people who have supported us for the last 50 years.

KJ: Do you still tour with Freddie and the Dreamers?

AM: Of course, we’re performing our next show in Somerset. We also frequent holiday centres and country homes.

KJ: Can we expect any new material from the band?

AM: Unfortunately not, the music industry has changed too much, people don’t buy like they used to and downloading is very popular. I wouldn’t want to be in the music business now, it has changed dramatically.

KJ: Who are your influences?

AM: I worship the Beatles; they were everything to me, from their hairstyles to the way they dressed.

KJ: Why do you think your music is still very popular?

AM: It’s purely and simply down to the songs, the songs never go out of fashion.

Our songs have no tapes, no voice enhancements, its three guitars and a drum kit and that stands the test of time.

KJ: What can audiences expect from The Sensational 60’s Experience?

AM: Nostalgia. The big stars of the 60s are all on stage together and we provide a fast show with non-stop music.

Audiences will be up on their feet in what will be an electrifying show.

It’s a rare chance to see the guys together on one stage, it won’t go on forever.
