Former classmates flew in from the other side of the world for a 60th reunion at a school at the weekend.

Eighteen past pupils of the Priory Church of England Primary School in Queens Road, Wimbledon, got together for a glass of bubbly and a chat about their schooldays on Saturday.

Known as Queens Road Secondary Modern School and Queens Road Primary School when the group went there, little has changed since the 1950s, pupils said.

Some visitors came from as far away as New Zealand, Canada and Spain for the meet-up.

Sue O’Brien who was one of those who attended, said: "It was lovely.

"We shared memories and got on really well.

"We will keep in touch now."

The class of 1954 enjoyed drinks and refreshments and a tour round the school building on Saturday, September 27, before having a pub meal.
