A new drama school offering a free trial class has started.

Aimed at four to eight-year-olds, the Perform Drama School in Raynes Park offers workshops to encourage social skills and develop the 4 C’s; confidence, communication, co-ordination and concentration.

Using a mix of drama, singing and dance in its workshops, small class sizes are taught by trained performers alongside a producer.

Kate Leiper, a producer at the school said: "We are all about developing life skills and it is proven that dance, singing and drama are all great life skills.

"We have a really good relationship with the parents; the producer is the point of contact with parents, keeping them updated on their child’s progress."

Founded in 2000 by principal Lucy Quick, Perform Drama, Dance and Singing workshops first opened in Primrose Hill with just four students. The school now boasts 5,000 students across London.

The first session was held on Monday, September 22.

Ms Quick said: "We are incredibly excited about opening in SW20; we have a fantastic venue and brilliant teachers to lead the workshops."

Classes will run on Mondays at Christ Church Hall, Copse Hill from 4pm to 5pm and 5pm to 6pm.
