Prizes for the rudest root vegetables, tallest sunflower and a 5ft pumpkin were awarded for the first time at an allotment summer party.

Children painted bird boxes and made pictures from vegetables to mimic famous artworks and the 50 guests enjoyed a barbecue at the event hosted by the Tamworth Farm Allotment Society.
