Groups of football fans on their way home from AFC Wimbledon versus Stevenage on Saturday were involved in a ‘dispute.’
British Transport Police (BTP) said they were called to reports of a fight on board a Surbiton to London Waterloo train on Saturday, August 30 at about 5.30pm.
One fan who was on the train said as it stopped at Raynes Park station on the way back from the match, fans were ‘trying to get at each other’ which prevented the doors from closing because they were in the way.
The fan, who was not involved in the disorder, said he saw at least 10 people rush past him to get into other carriages.
Police are appealing for information.
A BTP spokesman said: "We received a report of a fight onboard a Surbiton to London Waterloo train on Saturday, August 30 at approximately 5.30pm.
"This was reported to us about an hour after the event and enquiries are ongoing.
"It is believed a number of people were involved in the disorder."
