Beer by the River is in full flow at Morden Park Hall this afternoon, with food, live music, and family activities accompanying the plentiful supply of ale.

Now in its second year the festival pulls together a number of different breweries from London, Surrey and Kent.

In keeping with the festival’s local flavour, music is being provided by The Balham Ukelele Society.

The festival has been organised by The National Trust and Sambrook’s Brewery, which is based in Battersea.

Beer by the River; Morden Park Hall, Morden, London, Surrey SM4 5JD; Saturday, August 30, 12pm to 11pm; £10.

It was hugely expensive for not very much, in my opinion. The entrance cost included nothing. I love local festivals and fairs, but this felt like a big rip off...it could have been FREE, you were charged for everything else so there was plenty of money being made.

Also, it was behind the carpark...no river in sight! Should have been called Beer by the Overfilled Carpark Area.

Gosh some people are really sad - it makes you wonder why they leave the house!

I went with a small group of friends and the event was brilliant - not sure if jjmiao walked around with his eyes closed but the river ran around the event - kids were having a paddle by the fair.

It wasn't really expensive at all. This year I've been to about 15 different beer festivals - they all seemed really amateur whereas this was definitely a step above. Great music, great beer and great food - I really hope they do it again next year :-)
