Drivers should prepare for road closures on Sunday as 24,000 amateur cyclists take over the roads for the Prudential RideLondon 100-mile cycle challenge.

Residents are expected to line the streets to cheer on cyclists as they whizz through Raynes Park and Wimbledon after coming round from the Olympic stadium via Surrey.

Approaching the final leg of the challenge, cyclists will ride along Coombe Lane and Worple Road before heading up Wimbledon Hill towards Wimbledon Common as they near the finish line in The Mall.

The main bulk of amateur cyclists is expected to pass through Merton between 12pm and 2.30pm, with professionals competing in the later race estimated to arrive in Raynes Park at 5.20pm.
