A man in his twenties was taken to hospital after his leg became trapped under a car following a collision in Raynes Park last night.

It is believed the young man, believed to be in his late twenties, was a motorcyclist who collided with a Peugeot 206 in Kingston Road just before 9pm last night.

The incident happened on the same road which claimed the life of cyclist Laurent Patrick Cullinan at the weekend.

Laurent, known to family and friends as Patrick, was in a collision with a silver Honda Accord on Saturday, July 19 and later died from his injuries.

The emergency services were called to Kingston Road in Raynes Park at 8.55pm on Thursday, July 24 after reports of a road traffic collision where a person was trapped.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said a man was trapped under a vehicle by his leg and he was freed and taken to St George’s Hospital.

Fire crews from New Malden, Wimbledon and Croydon attended the scene to assist.
