Police are hunting two men who used a digger to ram-raid a recycling centre last night.

Officers were called to the SITA recycling centre in Mitcham just after 11pm to reports of a robbery in progress.

Police said the men used a digger to smash through a fence and wall of offices at the site in Benedict Wharf, off Hallowfield Way.

They had already escaped by the time police arrived.
