Sales of cars must stop at the former Burn Bullock pub after an application was rejected by Merton Council.

The car park at the London Road, Mitcham venue was being used for selling cars but that must end after councillors on the planning committee voted to refuse a bid to officially use the site for car sales.

An enforcement notice is now in force after the refusal to grant permission.

It had been recommended for refusal by council officers before the Planning Committee meeting on Thursday, June 19.
