A 26-year-old man who sustained serious head injuries during an assault remains in a serious but stable condition three days after the attack.

The man was found lying in Montrose Gardens, Mitcham on Saturday, June 14 with severe head injuries.

Police said there was an altercation in the street with one or more men, who then ran off towards Western Road.

Officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 7.24pm and the man was taken to hospital. Police said they cannot confirm how the injuries were inflicted.
