A 27-year-old woman banned from Merton has been jailed for breaching her anti-social behaviour order (ASBO).

Victoria Bunton became the first person in the country to be banned from an entire borough under a three-year ASBO issued at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Monday, February 24.

Exasperated police persuaded magistrates to issue the order after suffering fourteen years of the unemployed offender's anti-social behaviour in Merton.

But at a separate hearing on Monday, June 2, Ms Bunton pleaded guilty to breaching her ASBO by entering Merton six times between April 10 and May 15.

She also pleaded guilty to stealing more than £200 worth of perfume bottles from TK Maxx in Colliers Wood on March 6, and more than £70 worth of alcohol from Tesco in Merton Road on April 18.

The young woman further admitted stealing a Disabled Badge from Haydons Road, Mitcham on Thursday, May 15 and stealing six bottles of wine from Sainsburys on April 22.

The prolific offender, who has more than 50 previous convictions, was sentenced to four months in prison without bail.
