A father-of-five was rushed to hospital this morning after falling from a height.
Police were called to a house in Hatfeild Close, Mitcham, at 11.15am to reports of a man suffering from head injuries.
London's Air Ambulance flew an advanced trauma team to the scene at 11.45am, which landed in Morden Hall Park to treat the man.
He was then rushed by road to St George's Hospital, Tooting, by London Ambulance Service.
Neighbour Donald James, 15 Hatfeild Close, said: "They say he either fell through the loft at the hatch or fell through the ceiling. "It was a big affair - two ambulances and two coppers' cars."
Another neighbour said: "He either came through the ceiling or through the roof."
All five children are reported to have rushed home this morning after the accident.
It is understood he is in a stable condition.
Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
