The funeral cortege of 15-year-old Kyle McInerney will be making its way through the streets of Merton today.
Family and friends are expected to pack into Christ Church in Copse Hill, Wimbledon, for the rugby-loving teenager’s send off after he died following a training session earlier this month.
The church service was due to start at 12.30pm today, before people are invited to move on to the Merton and Sutton Joint Cemetery in Garth Road, Morden, for 2.30pm.
A wake with refreshments will be held at the Old Rutlishians Club in Poplar Road, Morden from 4pm.
Kyle, of Middleton Road, Morden, collapsed on the side of the rugby pitch while playing for his beloved Old Rutlishians and died in hospital.
