Police have identified a pensioner who was killed in a road traffic collision in Wimbledon on Saturday.

He was 91-year-old Edward Brzezinski of Melrose Avenue, Wimbledon Park.

Results of a post-mortem examination are expected in the coming days.

Mr Brzezinski sustained critical injuries in a collision with a car at 10.17am on 24 May at Durnsford Road, at the junction with Weir Road.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene. No arrest has been made and police enquiries continue.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Hampton are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call officers on 020 8941 9011.
