An elderly pedestrian has suffered chest injuries after a two car collision this morning.

Traffic has built up around Bushey Road and Grand Drive in Raynes Park after a collision at the junction at just after 9.30am.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene to reports of an accident where they found a man in his 80s.

A police spokesman said he was a pedestrian who was involved in the incident with a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a silver Skoda Estate.

The drivers are not said to be injured.

The man was taken to St George's Hospital by ambulance as a priority patient.

The police are still on the scene.

This is one of the worst junctions in the Borough. The traffic light sequence makes no sense and just causes Raynes Park and Bushey Road to come to a complete standstill. Pedestrians risk their lives trying to cross the road here. I hope the gentlemen concerned makes a full recovery.
