Police are appealing for information after a stolen car was burnt out in a park.

The blue VW Golf was stolen from Thornton Road, Carshalton on Sunday evening.

Fire officers were then called to Poulter Park, in Peterborough Road, Carshalton at 11.30pm to reports of a car on fire.

Mitcham firemen put out the fire in under half an hour.

No passengers were on site and London Ambulance Service was not called.

Police have made house-to-house enquiries in Thornton Road.

Anyone who lives in Thornton Road and the area around the park are being asked to come forward with information if they saw anyone acting suspiciously.
