A spiritual healing group is offering a free lecture examining holistic approaches to healthcare.

The Bruno Groening Circle of Friends received an international peace award from the UN in 2013.

In the first of a series of lectures across London, speakers will talk about the power of spiritual healing and offer stories of patients who have benefitted from their practices.

The Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, Saturday, May 17, 1.30pm, Wimbledon Village Hall, 26 Lingfield Road, Wimbledon SW19 4QD

Nice try, but no banana.

This organization likes to claim it has a UN award but that, like its healing claims, is bogus. The award came from The World Peace Prayer Society which has no UN consultative status and is not part of the UN. It is not authorized to give UN awards. See http://esango.un.org

Any non governmental organization can apply to become a UN DPI member and there don't seem to be strict acceptance criteria; http://outreach.un.o

Bad journalism that failed to check the basic facts when presented with a press release from a dubious organization.

Thanks Sarah. I was shocked to see that the Wimbledon Guardian had just regurgitated a press release without even a casual google to find out more about this group. I normally respect the standards at the WG but it's let itself down this time.
