Friends of a teenage girl who died after being hit by a lorry paid tribute to her yesterday, laying flowers at the scene of her death.
Claudia Jennifer Landa, 17, died on Friday after being hit by a lorry next to Mitcham Common on Wednesday, April 2.
Friends said the A-Level student was on her way home from Richmond upon Thames College when the accident happened.
One of the tributes
She died on Friday, April 4, after suffering serious injuries.
A crowd of about 40 people met at The Goat pub near the crash scene at 3pm to leave flowers, balloons and messages in her memory.
Emma Zdrzalka, her best friend, said: “Everyone said she was one of the funniest people they knew.
“She had so many friends. She was the craziest person ever. She was lovely.”
Claudia was studying Photography, English Literature, Drama and World Development at college.
Friends said she loved parties, festivals, photography and TV show Law and Order.
Meanwhile in central London another group of friends met at Marble Arch to pay tribute to Claudia with flowers, candles and letters.
Chloe Green, who met Claudia in the square where groups of teenagers regularly congregate, said: “On the day I met Claudia I was in a very bad place in my life and she made things better.”
“She was always someone to make people laugh.”
Sammy, another friend from Marble Arch, said: “She was a really nice lady. She always showed me love and I’m sad that she’s gone. Rest in peace.”
