Merton Council has promised to replace the trees that fell in the storms that hit before Christmas.
More than 100 public trees in the area were knocked down by the bad weather, causing widespread travel disruption and damage to homes, cars and businesses.
An elderly man was sent to hospital during the St Jude’s storm after being hit by a falling branch, and people were trapped in their houses by falling debris.
As part of the council’s usual planting programme, the highways team will be able to make sure that every tree that was damaged or felled is replaced by the right species in the correct area.
