This was the scene after a dramatic car crash in central Mitcham yesterday.
The Metropolitan Police helicopter was dispatched to the Mitcham Common area on Sunday, March 16, to find people they believed to be injured after a crash near Upper Green West in Mitcham.
Roads surrounding the incident were closed while police investigated.
The MPS helicopter landed in Mitcham town centre, in front of crowds of on-lookers.
A Twitter post from the team said: “All clear in Tower Hamlets, and now heading to search Mitcham Common for possibly injured persons after car crash on @MPSMerton.”
A short time later, the team said: “Thankfully no sign of anyone injured in Mitcham.”
The air ambulance helicopter was also called to the scene.
