A singing flash mob and a musical fire engine brought the town centre to a standstill as protesters continued their campaign to save St Helier Hospital.

A large group of campaigners from Keep Our St Helier Hospital gathered at Sutton station with a range of banners and even a fire engine on Sunday afternoon.

Wimbledon Times:

The group made its way through the town centre singing songs, dancing and handing out banners while the fire engine did laps of the ring road with the groups message blaring from its loudspeakers.

St Helier Hospital's services are under threat from planned cuts to the NHS and KOSH aimed to raise awareness of the situation and called one people to come to its meeting in Merton on Thursday.

A spokesman for KOSH said: "The Keep Our St Helier Hospital (KOSHH) campaign are delighted with the day's events. In short, we mean business and we won't rest until St Helier's services are safe."

The meeting takes place at the Civic Centre, London Road and starts at 7.30pm.
