A balaclava-clad man who dropped a knife when taking flight from police in Colliers Wood has been bailed.
A group of three men are said to have become aggressive when a Police Community Support Officer attempted to stop them near Colliers Wood station under controlled drinking zone regulations.
One of the suspects took off, dropping a blue handled kitchen knife and a glove at the junction of Walpole Road and the High Street, Colliers Wood, on Monday, February 24.
He was detained be officers, arrested, and taken to a police station for questioning after the incident at 10.10am.
During a search in custody the beanie hat which he had been wearing unravelled to become a full face balaclava.
He was further arrested for going equipped to steal.
A 25-year-old male from Alston Road, Tooting, has been bailed until mid-March pending further enquiries.
