Police are hunting for a man who groped a woman in her 30s on a train during the morning rush hour.

British Transport Police have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident on a train from West Ewell to Waterloo.

He is believed to have key information about what happened shortly after 8.30am on Monday, January 6.

The suspect is believed to have boarded at Raynes Park

Detective Constable Andy Parkinson said: "The victim, a woman in her 30s, boarded a train from Ewell West to Waterloo and sat down in the middle coach in a window seat.

"A man boarded at Raynes Park at 8.25am and sat next to her, before proceeding to touch her inappropriately. The victim moved away and told the man to stop."

The train arrived at platform 2 at Waterloo at about 9.05am and both passengers disembarked. The man went towards the underground.

DC Parkinson said: "Unwanted physical contact of this nature is simply not tolerated by BTP, and we will do everything in our power to identify anyone responsible.

"If you know the man pictured, or believe you may have witnessed what took place, I’d urge you to get in touch."
